Like its spiritual (and actual) predecessor, Grainbelt infuses their country with the ragged glory of cowpunk. The album is loose, giving the feeling that it poured from the band, like a satisfying draft beer. What they lack in studio polish is more than accounted for by swagger. This is music to drink, fight, and have fun with. Howe Glassman's impassioned vocals sound like a man who is telling you the best story you ever heard. You can hear the grin in his delivery. This is glorious roots-rock from the punk side of the Americana family tree.
